Finding your healthy body weight

Health is a word that many people shy away from. It often has connotations of small portions of bad tasting food and having to do exercise that one does not enjoy.

Thankfully there is another way of doing things. Achieving true health is very logical and surprisingly simple. At Body Integrity we do not believe in diets. One can try all the latest products on the market, but there is honestly no fooling the body.

The body has clear signs for every imbalance that it is struggling with, we just need to read the signs to pinpoint the imbalance and use simple tools to undo it. This is the only real way to achieve and keep your balanced weight.

Here are the main reasons why one could be overweight:

Un-balanced, low nutrient food consumption

If we do not have the nutrients that we need, our body does not have the fuel for each of the intricate processes that it needs to do. This includes not being able to eliminate toxins. The body can become sluggish and gain weight. We literally store toxins over our body like a big rubbish bin. Superfoods are the most nutrient rich food in the world.

High trans-fat consumption

Trans-fats are oils that have been hydrogenated. Many common vegetable oils and salad dressings are semi-hydrogenated. Hydrogenation can enable the vegetable fats to become solid, like margarine or chocolate. It is one of the most foreign substances that one can consume.

Animal fats and plant oils that have been heated to a high temperature become trans-fats. The body recognized trans-fats as a severe toxin. The body can end up struggling to operate and gain weight.

The principle of wholefood (food that is in the same state as it was when it was farmed) is the one to follow here. Always eat butter instead of margarine. If you are allergic to dairy try using coconut oil, it’s delicious!

High consumption of refined foods

When our blood sugar level drops on a regular basis and we have gluten in our intestines, we can easily gain weight. Again the wholefood principle comes in here. When food is refined it has no nutrients left in it. The cardboard box that cereals come in is probably healthier to eat than any refined cereal, flour, sugar, etc. Refined food drops your blood sugar level. Food is supposed to feed our energy levels not drop them. Food is perfect the way that nature grows it. Organic non-refined food is the only way to go. Raw honey is a wonderful alternative to sucrose sugar.

High chemical consumption

When our bodies are toxic and can not clear out the toxins, we can easily gain weight. When we buy foods in tins or pre-made packets, it often has many preservatives, colorants and flavor ants in it. Most non organic foods are covered in highly toxic chemical pesticides, xeno-estrogens and antibiotics. Our bodies were not designed to be constantly bombarded with chemicals, our immune system is put under huge strain and our system can’t get them out fast enough unless we have enough detoxing food in our diets. These chemicals literally attack all the systems and organs in our bodies. Again either buy or grow your own organic food, it doesn’t only feed your body; it is also the armor that protects us from chemicals in the air and our environment. A little extra effort and money prevents a lot of suffering and hospital bills.

Lack of water consumption                                                                                                           Our bodies are made up of over 70% water. Every process in our bodies needs water, especially the process of eliminating toxins. If we do not flush our body (like the toilet) on a regular basis, the toxins backlog and we become tired, toxic and overweight.

Chronic dis-ease

If one is at a stage of degeneration that involves struggling with a chronic-disease, then that could easily cause one to be overweight as the processes of the body are not functioning at optimum capacity. It is best to focus on taking in the cleanest, most nutrient foods that one can find, especially superfoods. Food is one of the most important medicines that we can access with ease; it is the fuel for the body to work on healing itself. Herbs, homeopathics and good quality bodywork techniques are other powerful tools that help the healing process.

Lack of sleep

Sleep is our regeneration time. It is essential for health. If we do not get enough sleep, we do not have enough energy to conduct all of the processes in our brain and body and the toxins cannot be eliminated.

Adrenal overload & other stress

If we put too much stress on our bodies they are constantly in emergency mode. In this state the body cannot regenerate or eliminate toxins and we create hormone imbalances in our brain and bodies including adrenal burnout. The consequences can be seriously damaging

High stimulant consumption (caffeine, etc)

Stimulants stimulate the adrenal glands and can push one into a state of body stress and adrenal burnout, as above.

Thyroid imbalance

If we do not consume enough mineral rich food, our thyroid can be compromised and slow down. A slow thyroid creates a slow metabolism. Ones energy levels drop and one puts on weight. Often depression is related. Dark green leaves, raw organic cacao and seaweeds are the best source of minerals.

Spinal imbalance

If the muscles surrounding the spine are tight the nerves that come out of the spine can be compromised. If the messages that need to conduct the organs and systems in the body cannot reach their destination then everything slows down. One can easily put on weight especially if the lower back is affecting the efficiency of the digestive system. This is a common cause for sluggish bowel movements among many other things. Find a good practitioner that can release long-term muscle tension.

Progesterone / Oestrogen imbalance

Progesterone and estrogen work symbiotically and need to be in constant balance. If the estrogen gets too high or the progesterone goes to low a common consequence is weight gain along with a hundred other occurrences.

If we get high amounts of synthetic hormones in our bodies we can put on a huge amount of weight. estrogen is stored in our fat and produced there. It also makes us gain more fat, so one can end up in quite a viscous cycle.

Not only are many people choosing to consume synthetic hormones on a daily basis, these hormones are ending up back in our water systems.

Most non-organic animal products are pumped with synthetic hormones to fatten them up and pesticides and plastics and petrochemical body products are filled with synthetic hormones.

The best way to arm ourselves is to eat organic food, use non-plastic kitchen containers, use natural progesterone cream to balance our hormones and clear out the synthetic hormones and use plant based body products.

Natural progesterone cream is one of the best way to protect against the effects of synthetic hormones bring the hormones back into balance along with a high plant protein and raw plant oil diet. Coconut oil is excellent.

Allopathic medication side-effects

Weight gain is a common consequence of chemical medication. Allopathic medication has a wonderful place in emergency situations. It is a powerful tool when used wisely. It does not help the body to regenerate. If one takes an allopathic medication for a long period of time it can seriously compromise and create strain on the systems of the body. These chemical medications are recognized the same way as any chemical, as a toxin to the body.  If you feel that your medication is causing a strain, this a time to look into tools for regenerating your body.

Heavy metal toxicity

Heavy metals are present in non-organic foods, polluted water and amalgam fillings. Heavy metals are highly toxic and can have many horrific side effects on the body including exhaustion and weight gain. There are various ways to clear heavy metals out of the body, one of them being using chlorella.

Lack of physical stimulation

We all know that exercise is good for us. Going to the gym is not what I am talking about. A good brisk walk in fresh air, every day or two, is the best exercise that one can get. The reason we need to do exercise is to make our lymphatic system function properly, improve our blood circulation, improve our oxygen intake and create strength, tone and stamina in the muscles. If the rest of our lives are healthy then no more exercise than a good walk is needed. In fact high impact exercise usually does far more harm than good.
